Our Vision

Guardians of an Altar is an LDS youth organization dedicated to giving like-minded young men and women (~16 and older) an opportunity to network and learn true principles of Zion. We are dedicated to supporting and instilling a multi-generational, refined, scriptural vision in the 21st century. Our desire is that this group will create a way for single men and women to meet other LDS youth of true character. Together they will engage in practical, Kingdom centered activities with the potential to change the world!

How it works

This world-wide organization includes organized groups around the world.  If there is currently no organized group in your area and you are interested in organizing one, please contact us!

Twice a month groups meet to discuss an article, video, book or topic chosen by the directors. The purpose is not to provide another activity or be merely a social outlet.  Instead, we help youth discuss, grow and make a difference in the world. We encourage application of the principles through real life projects.  Guardians of an Altar meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss successes and failures.  Check your group’s home page to find where and when they meet.

Joseph Smith Foundation

Guardians of an Altar is a project of the Joseph Smith Foundation.   The Joseph Smith Foundation is an organization focused on supporting and contributing to projects founded in the words of Jesus Christ.  Our motto is “Vision in Light of the Restoration”.  Joseph Smith advanced a literal interpretation of scripture and confirmation of the truths taught in the Bible.   He taught that a restoration of the doctrine and Church established and led by Jesus Christ was necessary in the latter days as it was in the former ages of the earth. Revelation was the rock foundation of all lasting accomplishment. Currently, Joseph Smith Foundation is the umbrella for the following organizational divisions, each based on the above principles: Joseph Smith Academy, Joseph Smith ForumZionVision and finally Guardians of an Altar.
